Free Lesson Conditions
5DAY provides professional driver training designed to prepare pupils for the DVSA theory and practical driving tests. While many pupils pass first time, test outcomes can be affected by examination conditions, nerves, or isolated driving faults.
To support pupils following an unsuccessful test attempt, 5DAY offers a Test Support and Retraining Programme, in accordance with DVSA guidance and the terms set out below.
Theory Test Support
Where a pupil does not achieve a pass in the DVSA theory test:
The pupil may attend theory training sessions unlimited with the online trainer
Sessions are provided to help address knowledge gaps and improve test readiness
Training continues until a theory test pass is achieved
Theory Test Booking & Fees
DVSA theory test fee: £23
Theory tests must be booked and paid for directly by the pupil with the DVSA
5DAY does not control theory test availability or booking outcomes
Practical Driving Test Support
Where a pupil does not pass their first DVSA practical driving test after completing the 5DAY course:
Eligibility
The pupil must provide a copy of the Driving Test Report (DL25A) issued by the DVSA examiner
The request for retraining must be made within 7 days of the test date
Scope of Retraining
Retraining consists of 1-hour remedial driving lessons
- Free Retraining is for 1st practical test only
Lessons focus only on the serious or dangerous faults identified on the DL25A
Training is provided until the instructor confirms the identified faults have been corrected and the pupil is test-ready
Instructor assessments are made in line with DVSA standards and are final.
Practical Test Booking & Fees
DVSA practical driving test fee: £62
Practical tests must be booked and paid for directly by the pupil with the DVSA
5DAY cannot guarantee test dates, availability, or examiner decisions
Use of a 5DAY Vehicle for second test
Car hire for test: £180
Vehicle hire is optional and subject to availability
Fair Use & Conduct
This programme is provided to support genuine test readiness and improvement.
Lessons are provided for fault correction, not unlimited ongoing tuition
Pupils are expected to attend booked sessions, follow instructor guidance, and behave respectfully
5DAY reserves the right to suspend or withdraw retraining where sessions are missed, guidance is repeatedly ignored, or behaviour is unreasonable or abusive
Vehicle changes during training do not constitute course failure and do not entitle pupils to additional free lessons. Familiarisation lessons may be recommended but remain optional and are chargeable to the instructor directly and not 5Day
Important Notes
Test pass decisions are made solely by DVSA examiners
5DAY does not influence or guarantee test outcomes
This policy does not include test fees or third-party charges
