What is an Intensive Driving Course?
A frequently asked question! While we can’t speak for other schools, we’ll explain how our intensive driving course works.
As the name suggests, our intensive driving course runs for five consecutive days, Monday to Friday. Each day, you’ll have a minimum of four hours of practical driving lessons. The course speeds up your learning process, getting you test-ready much faster than traditional weekly lessons.
Often called a “crash course,” this intensive format condenses all your training into a short period. Instead of spreading lessons over months, we pack longer sessions into each day. This creates an immersive environment, allowing you to practice continuously. The result is deeper knowledge retention and quicker skill development. It’s intense, but it builds your confidence on the road fast.
Each learner works with the same instructor throughout the week. This 1:1 setup ensures you get consistent, personalised training every day.
What You Need to Know Before Starting an Intensive Driving Course:
- You need a UK provisional driving licence. Apply for one here.
- Book time off in advance. Clear your schedule for all five days. You’ll want to focus entirely on the course without distractions.
- Prepare for long, tiring days. Each day involves hours of focused learning, so get plenty of rest outside of lessons to stay sharp.
- You don’t need to pass the theory test beforehand. We offer the option to take it during the week if you haven’t already passed. This helps you focus on the driving practice first.
- Pass your theory test before we can book the practical test. Once you pass the theory, we’ll schedule your driving test. Timing depends on test availability and your results.
Is an Intensive Course Suitable for All Levels?
Yes! Our five-day course works for learners of all experience levels. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have taken lessons before, we’ll tailor the course to fit your needs. Our instructors adjust the pace and content based on your skill level, ensuring you progress smoothly.
Benefits of Taking an Intensive Driving Course
The biggest benefit is speed. If you need to pass your test quickly, this course is perfect. It compresses months of learning into one focused week, getting you ready for the test fast.
Daily lessons also improve skill retention. You won’t have long gaps between lessons, so you’ll keep building on what you learn each day. This continuous practice helps you gain confidence and reach test standards more quickly.
Is This Course Right for You?
An intensive course requires focus and stamina, but it delivers great results. You’ll need to handle several hours of learning each day, so it’s a good fit for those who thrive in a fast-paced learning environment.
By the end of the week, you’ll have mastered key driving skills. From handling roundabouts to parallel parking and driving on dual carriageways, you’ll gain the experience you need to feel confident behind the wheel. Your instructor will guide you closely, preparing you not only for the driving test but also for driving safely afterwards.
If you’re ready to dedicate a week to focused driving practice, this course could be exactly what you need. You’ll be well on your way to passing your test and driving confidently in no time! To learn more or to book an intensive driving course, click here.
